How does one catch a brid that never lands,
How can you grasp a creature that always flies away,
How can you find a migrated swallow?
What use is crying over one you never had?
When does a visitor become a guest?
When doe a traveller's soul settle down
Ever have I wondered, ever have I cared,
But the Eagle has left,
Ever does she wonder, ever does she cry, gone with the winter wind,
Night and Frost, she has left behind, Along with the rhythm of her heart,

Love her I have, do, perhaps always will,
But again the traveller has left and one can only ask:
How can one catch a bird that always flies away!
